Megan Pascall

It's not easy finding the perfect home to rent - more so in a city like London where everything gets snatched up within seconds and you're left heartbroken. Thinking what if? Well thankfully that was not the case with Topshop Personal Stylist, Megan Pascall.

This twenty-four year old South African native, who was raised in Henley, assisted top London stylists such as Karl Plewka, Katie Burnett and Alice Giannini whilst training for the London Marathon managed to find the diamond in the rough of the London property mine.

Introducing Wallis Cottage, a wizened white building hidden at the end of the lane with an outgrown thatched roof. After shyly observing Megan's determinedly brisk walk towards him - he was nervous. But it wasn't until Megan pulled back her hood and beamed up at him with her signature cheeky grin, that Wallis threw open his weakened door. For inside, what youth Wallis Cottage lacked in his exterior, he gained in his interior - and Megan saw that.

"A cottage in London!", she all but shouts. "I mean who would not love that. Everyone is always so shocked when I say I live in a cottage, in LONDON!!"

Call it the stylist in her, always trying to find something different, unique, one of a kind. That thread that makes the exhausted mantra of 'I'm different', ring true for once, all thanks to Wallis Cottage. In fact she can't conceal her elation of such a find.

"I can't help but brag if I am honest." She laughs hysterically.

Although the real excitement comes at a 'Wallis' party, with Megan being an experienced connoisseur of hosting them. "The house has become quite a name. The most memorable moments would be the Summer 2010 - having many a braai ( BBQ for you Brits) drinking lots of wine and listening to some amazing music, and most of all with some incredible friends." She reminisces. "Always people in and out, so an amazing hub of people coming and going."

However when the party is over, Megan retreats to her tranquil bedroom, which as is expected of anything concerning Wallis Cottage, far from average. "I have an amazing white brick faced wall and the open fireplace, that I have filled with lots of candles and vases. It just gives the room such character."

Character is certainly a big aspect of any home. How we make it work for us, especially if we are planning on living there for at least a year. After a long day, we want to come back to a peaceful atmosphere. "Working full time does make you want to go home to a house you love every night. Wallis is most definitely doing that for me right now, and who knows what the first house I buy will be like. I can only hope and wish its everything I dreamt of and more."

Coincidentally she had just blogged about her dream house, so thought had been put into this future aspiration. "It would have to be a house that gets sun all year round. The sun would play a major role in where and how I built my house, nothing worse than a cold house that gets no sunlight." She shrugs. "My bedroom would be simple with an incredible bathroom. I hope to be living back in Cape Town, South Africa so I would make sure either the sea or the beautiful Table Mountain were in view. Eek!"

I endeavour I will be living back in Cape Town, South Africa so I would make sure either the sea or the beautiful Table Mountain were in view. eek!
